Sunday 10th May to Wednesday 13th May 2026. Torre dell’Orso, Puglia, Italy
After a few days touring we thought it was time for some R&R 
We chose an ACSI camperstop in a sleepy seaside town called Torre dell’Orso. The camper stop called Parco Camper la Torre has fab reviews and we weren’t disappointed.
We liked it that much, we stayed for 3 nights, walking the 25 mins to town once 
, other than that it was walking Meg or to the shower block 
. The weather was fab!
Torre dell’Orso was just waking up while we were there. Teams of gardeners and council workers tidying up neglected areas and patching the roads. We have a feeling everything comes to life at the end of May in Puglia. Apparently this end of the heel is the holiday destination for Italians mainly and they don’t see many foreigners.
On the first night in the camperstop we provided dinner to a few mosquitos and were very happy to be told on the 2nd day that the annual bug spraying was planned for that evening.
Never seen it in motion before. Everyone had to go inside, we shut all the openings so it didn’t affect us and Meg and watched from our windows.
It was dark as the small pickup comes round, lights flashing while this big tube sprays everything in its path from high.
Needless to say our last night was better, though we still sprayed ourselves as a precaution.
