Sunday was a very quiet day as everyone recovered from the previous day’s fun around the pools, or in the Bar Street Gang’s case, in the bar again!
We had arranged a buggy day for tomorrow and after a bit of shenanigans, Kelly have found a suitable Hire Buisness not far from the hotels. We arranged to meet the others there so we could complete the necessary paperwork now rather than in the morning.
The company is called H Tsaggaras rentals in Limnaria Centre opposite The Alexander The Great hotel.
Happy to recommend them to others as they offer a reasonable deposit and a welcome discount for the 6 vehicles we needed. Neil & Lorraine joined us so the Bar Street grand was increased to 12.
The paperwork has changed since we last had a Quad Day and you now have to complete a contract for each driver rather than a group contract. With 6 of us, this took some time but at least it meant we could scoot off in the morning ready to go.
Also the places you can visit on the Akamas have been drastically reduced. Partly to protect the area (which is understandable as it used ot be a free-for-all back in the day) and partly because people keep breaking down in areas where there’s no phone signal. I think a few tourists got themselves into even deeper trouble out towards the Blue Lagoon and Latchi. It is what it is and we’ll still have fun.
With the paperwork complete, we arranged to meet everyone back at the hire place in the morning. Keith & I headed back to the pool sun loungers for a rest!
For dinner, Keith, Mandy, Kelly and myself wandered across the main road to an Italian restaurant called Porto Bello. One of the benefits of the Almyra Hotel is that you don’t have to walk very far at all to find bars, restaurants and shops.
The food was good. Can’t remember what we all had, but I do remember it was a nice ambiance, the food tasty and good-sized portions for the money charged.
An early night was called for, as we need to be up early (for us on holiday) for the Buggy Day tomorrow.
