Argostoli to Poros

Day 35

Kefalonia to mainland

Today, while Vass did a few hours work, Gareth gave the van a wash and I took Meg down to the harbour for a walk, picking up some flowers and a puzzle for our fab hosts while browsing the shops. Before we said goodbye, Angela accompanied us to lunch at the harbour and we learnt more about her home country – Zambia.

What a great little visit and good reason to island hop. We didn’t make the most of Kefalonia this time, but – have wheels , will travel 😁.

There are only 2 campsites on the island but a few parking areas you can stop for free. Our problem was that we didn’t want to chance the steep access roads to some of the beaches in our big van. We’ll leave that to other intrepid explorers.

As we have the ferry back in the morning, we made our way to Poros and sat on the beach for a few hours until the sun went down. Meg didn’t have a lot of freedom in Argostoli as there were too many street dogs – owned but roaming free – who barked at her as soon as she made an appearance. So on the beach, off the lead, she had a ball 🥰.

We are now camped on the dockside ready for tomorrow’s ferry.
