Day 53. 17.5.23.

Nea Peramos

After a couple of hours’ of boy racer entertainment on the harbour, the night quietened down and we had a peaceful sleep. Surprising as I thought the fishing boats would wake us on their way out.

There was beach next to our car park but we decided to try another just 5 minutes down the road. It’s on P4N and is a lovely spot, just past a really nice taverna and behind the military training academy, so no beach front properties to annoy.

We sat for an hour or so on the beach and then tried the taverna for lunch. As it was early there was only us and some policemen having a lunch meeting .

At long last the sun was giving out some serious Greek heat , and we were hiding in the shade!

Just before we finished lunch the policemen were leaving so Gareth asked them about staying on the beach overnight. They said it was ok but it’s not a safe area, unless the beach-bar had night security. They said it’s safer to stay on the harbour.

Going back to our beach chairs by the van, we were so hot we moved right to the edge of the water and put our feet in , ah it was heaven, while we dreamed about renting a little place every summer right by the water .

Last night there was one other van on the harbour but it was gone when we got back. This time we chose the far end carpark with a park behind us and yachts and fishing boats in front. Not a bad view . The night was quieter and very warm.
