Lake Viverone

Lake Viverone and our pitch

Wednesday 17th June. Lake Viverone, Piedmont, Italy.

The next day came and we had to say goodbye to beautiful Lake Iseo. Having a penchant for lakes now, we decided to try Lake Viverone. We stopped here on our very first tryst into Italy 4 years ago.

We found a brilliant little Sosta called Acqua di Lago which has its own private beach area just across the road. We’re in a different area to the lake from our last visit. Surprisingly, we were the only ones there.

The little beach area was great, had sunbeds and umbrellas that we made good use of.

Meg came in again, trying to save me from drowning! Haha, bless her. The water was very clear again but was as warm as a bath, a bit strange at first but the further you went in the cooler it got.

The only issue with this area was the mosquitos, the worst we have had so far really, so although we sprayed and lit things, we were still batting them away through the evening while we watched the England game on the telly.

At one stage we didn’t think we were going to succeed in getting the game on the TV, but Parker wasn’t to be defeated and a few minutes before the start of the game Eureka! Happy campers were we 😃.
